  • Discuss the new drugs with respect to their pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, approved and unapproved indications.
  • Describe their adverse effects and drug interaction that may affect patient compliance.
  • Compare efficacy, dosage and cost to existing agents.
  • Discuss the patient oriented outcomes or evidence that may or may not exist for each of the new medications and when they may or may not be appropriate to recommend for selected patients.
  • Compare pharmacotherapy outcomes vs cost/benefit between newly approved agents and existing or lower cost agents.

Conference registration includes workshop attendance, handouts, breakfast or refreshments during the meetings and documentation of continuing education credit*.

All persons attending the conference must register. Spouses, family and friends are welcome and do not need to register unless they attend the educational sessions. Special seminar fees are available for non-professional accompanying persons who wish to attend one or more sessions (no special receipt, documentation or credit is issued). Children are not allowed in the meeting room.

  • Conference Refund Policy: Advance written notice is required for any refund consideration.
  • Up to the Discounted Advanced Registration Deadline: Cancellations are subject to a $50 processing fee per person or you may apply your full registration one time to another program attended within 12 months.
  • After Discounted Advanced Registration Deadline: No refunds, although registration less $50 processing fee may be applied one time to another program attended within 12 months.
  • Two weeks before the start of the conference: No refunds or application of registration to another program for cancellation, nonappearance or partial attendance. No refunds due to airline delays or cancellation of flights. With the exception of Canada, we offer no international refunds. Refunds processed by original form of payment or by check only. Refunds may take 2-4 weeks to process after notification of cancellation.

Accreditations / Target Audiences

CE Broker Tracking #: 50-11357: Approved by Florida Board of Medicine, Florida Board of Pharmacy, Florida Physician Assistants, Florida Board of Nursing, Georgia Board of Nursing.

Physicians:  Application for CME credit from the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) is planned.

AMA/AAFP Equivalency: AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

American Osteopathic Association (AOA): CME activities approved for AAFP credit are recognized by the AOA as equivalent to AOA Category 2 credit.

Canadian Physicians: Members of the College of Family Physicians of Canada CFPC are eligible to receive MAINPRO-M1 credits for participation in this activity due to reciprocal agreement with the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Physician Assistants: American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA): AAPA accepts AAFP Prescribed credit for AAPA Category 1 CME credit.

Nurse Practitioners: American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC):  Continuing education hours approved by AAFP and by ACPE meet the ANCC-accredited CNE criteria. This course provides Category 1 Continuing Education Hours for certification renewal. The same hours submitted to renew certification may be submitted to a State Board of Nursing for re-licensure.

National Certification Corporation (NCC): Recognizes any Nursing, Medical, Health Care or Other For Profit or Not for Profit Education Provider. Please contact NCC regarding approval.

Nurses: University Learning Systems is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP 11409.

Pharmacists/Technicians: University Learning Systems (ULS), is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a Provider of continuing pharmacy education.

Continuing Education Credit
