Nutritional and Weight Loss in Obesity - Part 1

At the conclusion of this program, the participant will be able to:  Food as Medicine::  1. List foods that cause illness and disease. 2. Review the important food components that should be placed into the diet. 3. Correlate various fatty acids that can cause inflammation and those that are anti-inflammatory. 4. Describe why fiber is important to health and weight loss. 5. Identify foods and herbs with anti-inflammatory properties  GI and Pancreas Review : 6. Review the physiology of GI tract that regulates digestion, satiety and weight 7. Describe the physiology of pancreas and it’s connection to blood sugar regulation and digestion. 8.  Explain how the microbiome plays a role in weight and blood sugar.   Various Diets:  9. List diets that have shown effectiveness  in causing weight loss. 10. List diets with most effect on decreasing diabetes and pre-diabetes markers.  11. Review the difficulty and side effects of diets.
